Description Herb
Some dogs wear their hearts on their faces, and this pup has a perpetually droopy expression that makes you want to ask him what broke his heart. We don't know, but we do know he's pretty afraid of strangers. Give him a little patience, though, and he can learn to trust new friends and start to blossom.

Multiple people have reported that he's a different dog out in the world: playful and spunky in the park, cuddly in the TV room. Even his fear of strangers seems to fade when he has trusted humans by his side. There's a confident, happy dog in there, just waiting to feel safe enough to come out.

He may need a little time to decide you're his person, but there's a whole lot of dog waiting on the other side of that decision. If you've got patience, a soft spot for the underdog, and room on the couch for a cuddlebug, he might be your guy.

All adoptable pets are spayed/neutered (or scheduled), vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go home today! No pre-application or appointment needed—just bring a valid ID and walk in. Our adoption fees are among the lowest in Cincinnati!

To meet our animals, visit our Northside shelters any day from 1–6pm. If listed as foster, email foster@cincycare.org to schedule a meet and greet. Adopting an adult dog with resident dogs or kids at home? Bring them along to ensure it’s a perfect match.
